Browse through some photographs taken by M.Soisalo and her field assistant M.Bassani at the study site. These will give you a better idea of the kind of habitat we work in, glimpses of other species we have been lucky to encounter, beautiful landscapes and other natural shots we have come across during our work and have felt like recording through this medium which is dear to us both.

98% of the Pantanal region is privately-owned and our research is being conducted inside a large beef-cattle ranch. Jaguar conservation programmes will need to work closely with landowners who will be sympathetic to the plight of the jaguar on their land if this cat is to survive in this wetland habitat, one of its last strongholds.
